1 · Who We Are — and Who We Aren't

QuizSparrow is an independent study tool. It is built and run by a small team with no relationship to W. W. Norton & Company.

• InQuizitive is Norton's product and Norton's trademark. We reference it to describe what QuizSparrow is compatible with, and for no other reason.
• No publisher, college, university, department or instructor sponsors, reviews, licenses, approves or endorses this software.
• Any other names and marks appearing on this site belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

We lead with this because it is the fact most likely to matter to you: nothing you read here is a statement on Norton's behalf, and nothing Norton publishes governs how QuizSparrow behaves.

2 · What You're Agreeing To

These Terms are the agreement between you and QuizSparrow covering this website, the browser extension, and the account features connected to them — together, "the Services."

• Installing the extension, signing in, or paying for a plan means you have read these Terms and accept them as they stand.
• If any part of them doesn't suit you, the remedy is simple: don't use the Services.
• If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, an adult responsible for you has to accept these Terms before you use the Services.
• We revise these Terms occasionally (see §9). Continuing to use the Services after a revision is posted means you accept the revised version.

3 · What QuizSparrow Does, Precisely

QuizSparrow reads the InQuizitive question currently displayed in your browser tab and shows you a suggested answer alongside a short explanation of the reasoning.

It is designed for the interactions InQuizitive actually uses:

• Multiple choice — the most common format across Norton's courses.
• Drag-and-drop — sorting items into categories, ordering sequences, placing labels.
• Click-on-target — clicking a choice, a region of an image or map, or a span of a sentence.
• Labeling — diagrams, figures and maps.
• Typed fill-in-the-blank — short typed responses.

Everything happens client-side, on a page you already have open, in a browser you already control. QuizSparrow is a study aid intended to shorten the time an activity takes and to help you check your reasoning. It is not a replacement for reading the material.

4 · What It Doesn't Do

We would rather be specific about the limits than let you infer them.

• It is not an answer key. No such thing exists for InQuizitive: every Norton title ships its own course, written for that book and edition. QuizSparrow reads your question; it does not look it up in a stolen list.
• It does not defeat monitoring. InQuizitive is not a proctored exam — there is no webcam requirement, no lockdown browser and no screen recording to circumvent. We neither claim nor attempt to hide anything, disguise a working pace, or alter timestamps.
• It does not touch your Norton account. It never signs in for you, never handles your credentials, and never communicates with your institution's systems or gradebook.
• It does not guarantee a grade. What you submit is what counts, and that decision is yours.

5 · Your Course Policy Comes First

Your instructor's syllabus and your institution's academic-integrity rules govern your work. They outrank anything on this page, and they vary from course to course.

• Read your course policy on study aids, collaboration and outside resources, and follow it.
• Use what QuizSparrow surfaces the way you'd use a tutor or a study group: to understand faster, not to skip understanding.
• Read the explanation attached to each suggestion. It is there so the material lands, and it is also what makes the tool defensible.
• The submission is yours. So is the outcome.

Breaching your institution's rules can cost you a grade, credit, standing, or your place on a programme. Those consequences land on you, and QuizSparrow cannot and does not shield you from them.

6 · Accuracy: What We Promise and What We Don't

The Services are supplied as they are and as they happen to be available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. Concretely, we do not promise:

• that a suggested answer or explanation is correct, complete, or appropriate for your specific activity;
• that the extension is free of defects or always reachable;
• that it will keep working unchanged as Norton, your browser or your institution's setup evolve;
• that using it improves any score, grade or outcome.

Because a wrong first answer in InQuizitive costs points you can only partly recover, checking a suggestion against the reading before you commit is not merely advisable — it is the sensible way to use this.

7 · Plans, Billing and Refunds

• Paid plans — weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual — grant access for the period shown to you at checkout.
• Payments are final and non-refundable, including for time you didn't use, for cancelling early, or for a period that has lapsed. This is subject only to rights that applicable law does not let you waive.
• A plan covers its stated period and does not silently extend itself. Note your own end date if a gap would be inconvenient.
• Your credentials are yours to safeguard. Access lost to sharing or compromise is not replaced or refunded.

8 · Where Our Liability Ends

So far as the law permits, neither QuizSparrow nor the people who build it are liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the Services or from being unable to use them. That includes, without limiting it:

• lost grades, credit, qualifications, time or study progress;
• academic or disciplinary consequences, whether or not the Services were involved;
• defects, outages, incompatibility or loss of data;
• any decision you took in reliance on a suggestion the extension produced.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the total you paid us during the three months preceding the claim.

9 · Revisions to These Terms

We update these Terms as the product and the law change. A revision takes effect when it appears on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after that point is acceptance. Nothing in a revision applies retroactively to a period already billed.
