Privacy Policy
Effective 26 July 2026
1 · What Never Leaves Your Browser
QuizSparrow is built to keep the sensitive part local, so it's worth starting with what we don't receive rather than what we do.
The extension reads the InQuizitive question rendered on the page you already have open, and it works on that page. It is not a pipe that copies your coursework to us for storage. We do not build a record of the activities you open, the courses you're enrolled in, the questions you were asked, or the answers you chose to submit.
This policy covers the QuizSparrow website, the extension, and the account features connected to them — together, "the Services." Using them means you accept what's described here.
2 · What We Do Hold
A short list, and it exists because an account and a subscription have to work:
- Account basics — the email address you sign up with, and a securely hashed form of your password. We never store your password as text.
- Subscription state — which plan you're on, when its period runs to, and whether it's active. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers.
- Support correspondence — anything you write to us, kept so we can answer you and refer back if you write again.
- Basic service telemetry — aggregate, non-identifying signals about whether the extension is functioning and where it errors, so we can fix it.
That's the whole of it.
3 · What We Never Ask For
Explicitly, and by design:
- Your Norton credentials. The extension never signs in for you and never handles that password.
- Your coursework content. Questions, answers and activity contents are not transmitted to us for retention.
- Your grades or gradebook. We have no access to your institution's systems and no way to obtain one.
- Your institution's identity. We don't ask which school you attend and don't derive it.
- Anything beyond the tab you're working in. No browsing history, no other tabs, no screen contents, no camera, no microphone.
If a feature ever needed something outside this list, it would appear here first.
4 · Why We Hold It
Each item in §2 exists for a stated reason and is used for nothing else:
- to create your account, sign you in, and let you recover access;
- to determine whether your subscription entitles you to use the Services;
- to process a payment you initiated, and to send the receipt for it;
- to answer a support message you sent us;
- to find and fix faults in the extension.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it. There is no advertising profile built from it.
5 · Processors We Rely On
We use a small number of external providers to run the Services, and each receives only what its job requires:
- a payment processor, which handles card details we never see;
- an email provider, to deliver account and receipt messages;
- hosting and infrastructure, which stores the account data in §2.
Beyond those, information leaves us only where the law compels it — a valid legal order — or where we must act to protect the Services or someone's safety.
6 · Your School Is Not In the Loop
We do not notify, report to, or share anything with any college, university, department, instructor, publisher or learning platform. Nobody at your institution learns from us that you have an account, that you installed the extension, or that you used it. We have no relationship with any of them through which to do so, and no intention of forming one.
7 · Storage, Security and Deletion
- Data in §2 is held while your account exists, plus a short period afterwards for accounting and abuse-prevention purposes.
- We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access limited to the people who need it to operate the Services.
- Support correspondence is retained for a limited period and then cleared.
- We won't overclaim here: no system connected to the internet is perfectly secure, and we can't promise that no incident will ever occur. What we can promise is that the list in §2 is deliberately short, which limits what any incident could expose.
8 · Controlling Your Data
- See it — ask us what your account holds and we'll tell you.
- Correct it — an inaccurate email or detail can be fixed on request.
- Delete it — ask for your account to be closed and its data removed, subject to any record we're legally obliged to keep.
- Stop it — uninstalling the extension ends its reading of pages immediately, with no residue.
One email to the address at the foot of this page starts any of these.
9 · Age
The Services are meant for students at college level and are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a younger child has created an account, write to us and we'll remove it.
10 · Revisions
We'll update this policy when the Services or the law change. A revision takes effect when it's posted here with a new effective date. If a change ever meaningfully broadened what we collect, we'd say so plainly at the top rather than bury it in a section.
